PostDoc (f_m_x) Real-time GNSS positioning for geohazard monitoring

For our „Real-time GNSS“ group we are looking for a PostDoc (f_m_x) in full-time to start as soon as possible. The research work will be in the area of multi-GNSS Precise Point Positioning (PPP) with the constellations GPS, Galileo, GLONASS, BeiDou, and QZSS, on carrier-phase ambiguity resolution for PPP-RTK, and on PPP corrections. As an application of real-time GNSS positioning, the position includes the support of our team in the analysis of regional GNSS networks for geohazard monitoring. The work of the candidate will combine innovative research under operational aspects together with international and interdisciplinary partner institutions.
Your responsibilities:
- Research in real-time high precision GNSS positioning with focus on PPP-RTK, multi-GNSS and multi-frequency integration, and PPP-RTK corrections
- Real-time analysis of regional GNSS networks for the monitoring of geohazards such as earthquakes
- Further development of the GNSS analysis software RT-PPP (C++)
- Active cooperation and support of international and interdisciplinary partner institutions with the application of GNSS real-time data in geosciences
- Publication of results at international conferences and in peer-reviewed journals
Your qualifications:
- Scientific university education and PhD in geodesy or related disciplines
- Experience with GNSS data processing, PPP, RTK
- Advanced knowledge of linear algebra, estimation theory and adjustment theory
- Experience in scientific programming, e.g. with C++, MATLAB, Python
- Knowledge in Unix/Linux-based operating system environments would be a plus
- Very good command of written and spoken English
- Willingness to work in an interdisciplinary and international research environment
- High motivation and personal responsibility

Fixed-term: 3 years
Salary: The position is classed as salary group 13 according to “TVöD Bund (Tarifgebiet Ost)”. The salary group is determined on the basis of the Collective Wage Agreement and the respective personal qualifications.
Working hours: Full-time (currently 39 h/week); The position is generally suitable for part-time work.
