Section 3.3 at the „Potsdamer Tag der Wissenschaften“ 2024

The path of a geoscientific sample from the field to the laboratory: from sampling to sample processing to the measurement result. We invited our guests to try it out for themselves!
From sieving and filtering to microscopy and chromatography, each method plays an important role in measuring what eludes the naked eye. But why do we use these techniques and how do they contribute to our understanding of the geological process? At the Potsdam Science Day on May 4, 2024, we used our “From the field to the lab” stand to show how all these methods work and why we actually use them. Through various exciting experiments for young and old, we have made it tangible what goes on behind the lab doors. We would like to thank all the science enthusiasts who stopped by and took part on this day!
