Function and Responsibilities:

Abror Gafurov is a hydrologist with strong focus on mountain hydrology. His recent research activities are dedicated to the field of climate impact assessment on water resources in Central Asia. Moreover, he has a strong expreience in using remote sensing snow cover data for hydrological studies. His scientific activites are conducted in the frame of Central Asia Water (CAWa-Green) and Climate Impact Assessment on Water Resources in Uzbekistan: implications to agriculture and hydropower serctors (CLIMWATER) projects. The CAWa-Green project is implemented in the frame of the Green Central Asia program funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany and the CLIMWATER project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Ecucation and Research (BMBF).
