Function and Responsibilities:

With Josi Holtz, I am helping to run the ICPMS facilities of the HELGES laboratories, including ICP-OESiCAP QElement 2 and Neptune. Working with Dr. Patrick Frings and Jutta Schlegel who are responsible for Clean laboratory, we focus on quantifying element concentrations and metal(loid) isotope ratios in a diverse range of environmental and geological matrices by both solution and in-situ (with our advanced Femtosecond Laser Ablation) analytical methods. We always welcome new projects both collaborative and commercial.

Research Interests:

  • Isotope geochemistry in minerals and biominerals.
  • Geochemistry (trace elements and U-O-Hf isotopes etc.) of detrital minerals.
  • Evolution of the Early Archean crust.
  • Development of analytical methods.

Career:

  • SHRIMP (Sensitive High Resolution Ion MicroProbe) Technical Officer. 2022-2023. Research School of Earth Sciences, the Australian National University.
  • LAICPMS (Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry) Technical Officer. 2019-2020. Research School of Earth Sciences, the Australian National University.

Education:

  • PhD. Earth Sciences. Research School of Earth Sciences, the Australian National University. Thesis: Growth of the Preserved Continental Crust: Integrated U-Pb, O, and Hf Isotopic Systematics of Detrital Zircons from Australia and Antarctica.
  • M.S. Geochemistry. State Key Laboratory of Isotope Geochemistry, Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Research: Cenozoic magmatic rocks in the Yunnan area, Eastern Tibet.
  • B.S. Geology. College of Earth Sciences, Jilin University, China. Research: The Study of Paleoarchean Granitic Rocks and Their Fabric Feature in Taili Area, Liaoning Province.
