Function and Responsibilities:

Highly motivated and enthusiastic Ph.D. student at GFZ Potsdam in the Inorganic and Isotope Geochemistry section with a M.Sc. thesis at the Department of Earth Sciences ETH Zurich, a M.Sc. in Geochemistry at Institut de Physique du Globe de Paris and a M.Sc. in Geosciences Engineering at UniLaSalle Beauvais. Passionate about understanding the mysteries behind the formation processes and characteristics of sedimentary ore deposits and their geological significance, my goal is to apply my expertise in geochemistry and mining engineering to support sustainable resource exploration by studying the formation processes of minerals deposits.

My Ph.D. focus on "Tracing mineralizing processes in sediment-hosted mineral deposits using multiple sulfur isotopes" under the supervision of Dr. Joseph Magnall (GFZ), Prof. Sarah Gleeson (GFZ) and Prof. Harald Strauß (Universität of Münster). The aim of the project is to constrain different sulfate reduction pathways by conducting multiple sulfur isotope analyses on sulfur-bearing phases found in deposits from world class Zn district (Mt-Isa-McArthur Basin, Australia; Selwyn Basin, Canada). This project is funded by the DOME SPP 2238 Dynamics of Ore Metals Enrichment and is linked to the Topic 8 Georesources.

Research Interests:

  • Isotope geochemistry
  • Ore-forming processes
  • Economic geology

Projects:

Current research project
Since 2024 – Tracing mineralizing processes in sediment-hosted mineral deposits using multiple sulfur isotopes
Ph.D. at GeoForschungsZentrum Potsdam and Freie Universität Berlin
Past research project
2023 – Study of the sources and properties of ore forming fluids in the giant San Vicente Mississippi Valley Type deposit, Peru
M.Sc. thesis at ETH Zurich, Switzerland
• High-precision isotope dilution thermal ionization mass spectrometry (ID-TIMS) Pb isotopic analyses conducted on the potential sedimentary, igneous, metamorphic and hydrocarbon source rocks surrounding the San Vicente deposit to identify the source of metal
• A simulation of Pb isotope incongruent leaching on bulk rocks from different units was carried out to evaluate the source contribution of different units
• The contribution of hydrocarbon source rocks was evaluated by simulating the production of an aqueous phase
• Clumped isotopes thermometry analyses (n=12) on (i) hydrothermal gangue dolomite and (ii) on host dolomite to determine the temperature of ore minerals along different spatial distributions
2022 – Study of orogenic Pb-Zn-Ag-(F-Ba) deposits in the Western Alps, France
M.Sc. internship at ISTerre, Université Grenoble - Alpes, France
• Carry out microthermometry measurements on fluid inclusion inclusions hosted in ore (sphalerite) and gangue (quartz and fluorite) on three Pb-Zn-Ag-(F-Ba) ore occurrences to track the physicochemical nature and composition of paleo-hydrothermal fluids
2021 – Study of petrology of alkaline differentiated volcanic rocks of the Ronarc'h peninsula, Kerguelen archipelago
B.Sc. thesis at UniLaSalle Beauvais, France
