Function and Responsibilities:
Charitra uses global-scale geodynamical models to better understand how the internal dynamics of our planet Earth shape its surface. Using mantle convection code StagYY, his primary focus has been the formation of the earliest continents (TTG crust and the cratonic lithosphere) during the Archean Eon (4.0 - 2.5 billion years ago).
At GFZ Potsdam, he will work within the framework of the ERC Synergy project MEET to integrate new geochemical and geological data into geodynamic models.
