Function and Responsibilities:
The Voluntary Year in Science, Sustainability and Technology (FJN) is a special form of voluntary service. The commitment is mainly aimed at environmental and climate protection, with a focus on technical and scientific aspects. The work facilities are public welfare-oriented places of work, which can be research facilities, universities or associations, for example. The FJN offers young people without any previous work experience the opportunity to gain practical insight, which can help with their later choice of career. In addition, the voluntary service is accompanied by educational seminars that enable exchange with other FJN volunteers.
I support the Communications and Media team at GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences.
