Dr. Helen Feord
Function and Responsibilities:
My research broadly focuses on understanding the responses of various algal species to dynamic abiotic stress. I am currently a postdoc on the the DEEP PURPLE ERC project, focusing on the chlorophyte and streptophyte algae present on the Greenland Ice Sheet by studying diurnal and seasonal changes in algal community and function, as well as algal responses to various abiotic stressors. This work combines environmental sampling as well as incubation experiments both in the field and in controlled laboratory settings.
