Research Interests:
My primary research focuses on understanding the emergence and diversification of complex life on Earth, from the earliest eukaryotes to animals. Specifically, I investigate ecological and evolutionary changes and their links to global transformations of marine environments throughout the Proterozoic and early Paleozoic (1.7 - 0.4 billion years ago). To achieve this, I play with techniques at the intersection of organic geochemistry, stable isotope geochemistry, and paleontology.Career:
- 2022 - now Branco Weiss Fellow at GFZ
