Function and Responsibilities:
I am a project manager in the Geoenergy section. Primarily, I am concentrating on managing und coodinating collaborative EU research and innovation projects.
Currently my main project is CRM-geothermal our EU-funded project that is developing technology to simultaneously extract mineral resources and geothermal energy from geothermal reservoirs. At the same time, I am supporting our ATES (Aquifer Therml Energy Storage) projects PUSH-IT and Reallabor GeoSpeicher Berlin, with the common objective to accompagny the implementation of an ATES system in Berlin Adlershof. As a third pillar, I am supporting the Interreg Central Europe project TRANSGEO in its effort to transform abandoned wells (such as old oil&gas wells) for geothermal energy production.
In my role as GFZ's representative in the EERA Joint Programme Geothermal Energy, I am additionally contributing to the GEOTHERM-FORA project, which brings continuous support to the activities of the Geothermal Implementation Working Group (Geothermal IWG) and the European Technology and Innovation Platform on Geothermal (ETIP Geothermal), with the overarching objective to optimize the joint work of the two fora.
