Function and Responsibilities:

Projects:

current projects (2024)

  • design/ development of 10 prototypes in Self-built small series of the isotope autosampler in version 2 and version 3, planning, installation of the devices in field campaigns worldwide

    As a team with our electronics engineer Torsten Queißer, we develop our own specialized, scientific devices for our researchers

    Production takes place in cooperation with the GFZ central workshop using the latest technologies such as CNC metal processing, as well as our own 3D printer fleet with STL and FDM technologies

        Licensing to third-party manufacturers of our in-house developed scient. Devices / Prototypes

    Support / construction of rain radar (Furuno WR21020) in Switzerland in fall 2024

    Development of filter devices for laboratory and field applications for large quantities of water (7 liters, 300mm filter, 10bar) with the latest variant UFO-2 (universal filter object #2), production in the GFZ central workshop, special surface treatment externally
    Development and assembly of "erosion mills" for laboratory tests of the erodibility of different rock samples, (associated sediment analysis with UFO-1 filter by Gunnar Pruss)

Awards:

The GFZ prize "Techniker:in 2016" went to Dipl.-Ing. Markus Reich from Section 5.1 Geomorphology for his customized, innovative and robust technical solutions for obtaining samples and digital data in rough terrain.
