GFZ Delegation Trip to Singapore, China and Taiwan
From the 24th July until the 1st of August 2016 a GFZ delegation led by the scientific executive director and chairman of the board, Prof. Hüttl, visited research institutions and ministries in China, Taiwan and Singapore. Highlights of the visits organized by the International Office of the GFZ and the Helmholtz Office in Peking, were meetings with the Chinese minister for science and technology, Prof. Wang Gang, and the president of the Chinese Academy for Sciences, Prof. Bai Chunli, and the Taiwanese Academia Sinica, Dr. Lou-Chuang Lee. The visit let to an enhancement of the bilateral cooperation between China and the GFZ. An enlargement of the cooperation between the Taiwanese Academia Sinica and the National Taiwan University is planned. A common workshop with the Earth Observatory Singapore (EOS) in the first part of 2017 will mark the start of the bilateral cooperation with this highly recognized scientific institution of the Nanyang Technological University Singapore.
