The MinNoBeck_Potsdam project is part of a joint research project sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in the frame of the BMBF program r4 “Innovative Technologien für Ressourceneffizienz – Forschung zur Bereitstellung wirtschaftlicher Rohstoffe”.

MinNoBeck_Potsdam focus on unraveling the origin and evolution of fluids which deposited hydrothermal Zn-Pb, Fe and F-Ba mineralization hosted by Permian Rotliegend rocks and/or Zechstein carbonates in the North German Basin. Understanding the origin of such covered deep-seated Mesozoic mineralization may provide a means for future exploration of similar mineralization in shallow buried Permian units in the North German Basin.
