GOGAF: Gas geochemistry in the Alpine Fault, New Zealand
Discription:
The objective is to obtain information on all free circulating fluids from the drilled rock, fissures, faults and alteration zones in order to carry out a qualitative and semi-quantitative assessment of the volatile components along the drilled profile through the Alpine fault. With the chemical characterization of the individual fluid systems above and below the fault zone it is possible to clarify if there are any systematic compositional differences in the gas composition of the Indo-Australian and Pacific plates along the Alpine fault and if a hydraulic connection exists through the fault zone.
