Function and Responsibilities:

Laurens Oostwegel works as a geodata scientist at GFZ Potsdam, Germany. He holds a masters degree in Geomatics for the Built Environment (TU Delft) as well as Urban Geography (Utrecht Unversity). In the past years he has worked in international settings in Slovenia, Germany and the Netherlands on using geographical data for natural hazards. He put his efforts in creating open software for Building Information Modeling (BIM), by contributing to open-source projects, such as BlenderBIM and IfcOpenShell. He currently works with global high-resolution OpenStreetMap (OSM) and other open data. His area of expertise within the project lies is the processing and analysis of big and 3D geospatial data.
