Research in Europe

Our service:

We provide extensive service for the successful application of EU projects and assist scientists with the organisation of EU and third-party funded projects. This includes:

  • Information for scientists about EU funding programs (newsletters, information events and workshops)
  • Individual content-strategic advice on application options and political embedding
  • Suggestions for a good project design, for the organization and for the management
  • Delivery of suitable examples for the application (as required), as well as text components for GFZ-specific information, e.g. in the sub-areas of training, outreach, dissemination
  • Mediation of partners, help with partner selection (worldwide)
  • Mediation of tailor-made contacts with the EU Commission and presentation of the project application in Brussels
  • Support in administrative matters (formalities, amendments)
  • Help with calculating costs
  • Help with hosting and organizing events in the application process
  • Linguistic / editorial assistance
  • Proofreading of applications, especially with regard to sub-areas relevant to the assessment
  • Graphic support

EU Projects

Since it was founded, the German Research Center for Geosciences has participated in more than 210 projects in the EU research framework programmes in European consortia. Many of these projects were or are being coordinated at the GFZ. Horizon Europe

Building on Horizon 2020, the new EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation, Horizon Europe, started at the beginning of 2021 and will run until the end of 2027. Get an overview of the programme here.
