In this long-duration project, heat-flow-density, temperature field and geothermal potential of the North German Basin are under systematic investigation. The research covers the determination of temperature-depth profiles (temperature logging), the measurements of rock thermal properties (i.e. thermal conductivity) and the numerical analysis and interpretation of the results. The results are implemented into the reassess German and global compilation of heat-flow data.
