SPWD Laboratory Prototyp
As part of the project Seismic Prediction While Drilling - SPWD, a laboratory prototype of a seismic" predictive "borehole probe was developed for use in horizontal dry wells with a diameter of 8". The probe essentially consists of four sections equipped with powerful vibration sources and two sections, each of which is equipped with two three-component geophone heads as receivers. The sections can be rotated individually. The connection to the borehole wall is established pneumatically for sources and receivers. The applied wave field can be focused in the desired direction if the vibration sources are controlled with appropriate amplitude and phase accuracy. In this way, it is possible to "look" in a targeted way. The device is wired and can run in drill holes up to a length of 50 meters.
