Dr. Verónica Rodriguez Tribaldos won the Helmholtz Young Investigators Award. From 1st of July 2024, Dr. Rodriguez will realize the project InDySE from the monetary award.
The InDySE project aims at developing and validating the next generation of subsurface imaging and monitoring platforms for urban areas. These new platforms will result in high-resolution models of near-surface structure, material properties and dynamic processes relevant to geohazard assessment and mitigation, and sustainable urban development. The focus will be on highly transferable approaches that adapt to and take advantage of the urban environment, such as the combination of fiber-optic sensing technologies deployed on existing telecommunication networks (dark fibers) with tools that enable harnessing and utilizing the urban seismic noise field for efficient imaging and monitoring.
