Christoph Sens-Schönfelder, section Seismology, has been appointed to the Editorial Board of the Geophysical Journal International (GJI). He is the second scientist at GFZ to join the editorial board after Ute Weckmann, section Near-surface Geophysics.
In his work at GFZ Christoph Sens-Schönfelder investigates the propagation properties of seismic waves. Here, the smallest temporal changes provide him with information about mechanical, hydrological or thermal processes in the subsurface. These observations are made possible by using the permanently existing seismic ambient noise with the methods of seismic interferometry.
The Geophysical Journal International is published monthly in Oxford Academic. In 2019 the journal has published 548 articles.
