Donald Bruce Dingwell, Vice Chairman of the GFZ Scientific Advisory Board, has been accepted as a corresponding member of the Academia Mexicana de Ciencias (AMC). He was thus honoured for his significant contributions to volcano research in Mexico.
Donald Bruce Dingwell is chair holder of Mineralogy and Petrology and Director of the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) Munich.
The Academia Mexicana de Ciencias is the national academy of sciences of Mexico. It includes about 3,000 members from Mexico and 120 corresponding members from all over the world. The AMC serves as an important source of scientific information and recommendations for the government of Mexico.
