Heidi Kreibich, head of the Working Group Flood Risk and Climate Adaptation in the Section 4.4 Hydrology, will be honoured with the Volker Medal of the International Hydrology Prize in November. The International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS) recognises the promotion of hydrological sciences across all disciplines and outstanding applications of hydrology for the benefit of society. Heidi Kreibich receives the award for her outstanding contributions to analysing and managing flood risks in dynamic human-water systems.
The International Hydrology Prize is awarded annually by the IAHS, in cooperation with UNESCO and the World Meteorological Organisation (WMO). The award ceremony will take place at the beginning of November in Florianopolis, Brazil, during the joint conference of the IAHS and the Brazilian Association for Water Resources (ABRHidro).
