May is European Diversity Month.

Our motto on May 18, the 9th German Diversity Day:

We are as diverse as the Earth we explore. | Wir sind so divers wie die Erde, die wir erforschen.

On this day, diversity is honoured in all its dimensions: age, ethnic origin and nationality, gender and gender identity, physical and mental ability, religion and worldview, sexual orientation, social background. This is how it is represented by Charta der Vielfalt, an association launched by four companies in 2006 and founded in 2010, which has since been under the patronage of the German Chancellor.

For our social media campaign, we asked various people from the GFZ to briefly introduce themselves and what they do in our institution, and share their thoughts, experiences or even their message regarding diversity with us and the world.

Of course, a selection cannot represent all aspects of diversity, but at least a part of it. The eight are representative of ALL who work here and thus contribute with all their diversity to doing and enabling successful research.
