From 5th to 8th of September 2022, IAG, the International Association of Geodesy, is having the 2nd International Symposium of its Commission 4 “Positioning and Applications” at Wissenschaftsetage Potsdam organized by GFZ-Section 1.1 Space Geodetic Techniques.
Besides various applications of GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems), such as emerging positioning techniques, GNSS integrity and quality control, multi-frequency multi-constellation GNSS, GNSS-reflectometry, remote sensing of troposphere and ionosphere, autonomous driving and seamless indoor navigation, space weather is the focus topic of the conference.
GFZ Section 1.1 is organizing the Symposium and it actively contributes through several scientific presentations. The Symposium is co-organized by IAGA (International Association for Magnetism and Aeronomy), which is also engaged in the space weather research, and hence, eligible for IUGG funding due to its multi-association character. At the conference that continues until Thursday evening (08.09.2022) there are about 75 participants, of which 45 take part in person and the others online.
