Prof. Dr. Mahdi Motagh has been appointed to the Editorial Board of the scientific journal "Engineering Geology". "Engineering Geology" is an international journal that combines geosciences and engineering sciences, especially geology and geotechnics.
Editorial Board members provide expert advice and review submitted scientific manuscripts. As a member of the Editorial Board, Motagh is also jointly responsible for the positioning and direction of the journal and for attracting new authors. Motagh's expertise for the journal Engineering Geology includes imaging geodesy and InSAR technology, active tectonics, fault zone processes and volcanic geodesy, landslides and slope stability, glacier movement, ice mass change, flood analysis and machine learning.
Prof. Dr Mahdi Motagh is Professor of Radar Remote Sensing at the Institute of Photogrammetry and GeoInformation in a joint appointment between the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ, Helmholtz Centre Potsdam) and Leibniz Universität Hannover. At the GFZ he also heads the working group 'Radar and Optical Remote Sensing for the Analysis of Geohazards'.
