Wissenschaftliche Interessen:

Ajay Kumar aspires to be an earth scientist. His long-term scientific goal lies in the thermochemical imaging and evolution of the lithosphere. To achieve this, he develops methods and determines the present-day physical state (Temperature, pressure and composition) inside the Earth constrained by self-consistently integrating potential field, passive seismological, petrological, mineral physics datasets to work out and understand fundamental processes behind. He is equally interested in earthquakes, which directly impact society and their tectonic significance, particularly in continental collision zones.
