Funktion und Aufgaben:

Postdoctoral researcher in EMERGE project (Measuring & Modelling Tectonic CO2 Emissions Through Time)

My task is to quantify present-day regional CO2 flux patterns of entire rift-segments by combining innovative drone-based CO2 flux measuring techniques with ground measurements. This will allow us to quantify the contribution of rift-related CO2 degassing to the natural carbon cycle in unprecedented detail.

Wissenschaftliche Interessen:

I am a geologist with a strong interest in the temporal and spatial variations of gas and fluid geochemistry at the geosphere-atmosphere interface, to understand the processes that drive these variations.

In recent years, I have led several expeditions to both volcanic and non-volcanic geothermal areas, evaluating and developing different methodological approaches and measurement concepts as exploration and monitoring tools. I particularly like interdisciplinary approaches to the study of geosystems on both small and larger scales.
