Funktion und Aufgaben:

As a new employee I have yet to take on many responsibilities, but my main responsibility would be to ensure the simulation of the Grace FO mission continues smoothly.

Wissenschaftliche Interessen:

I am highly interested in satellites. From remote sensing to the passive and active control algorithms that play a key role in the mission of the satellite. With a more engineering history I am also interested in the hardware that goes into construction a satellite and the different type of tests the hardware must withstand to be launch-ready.

Karriere:

As a recently graduated Master student, GFZ is my first working opportunity and I am extremely excited to be here.

Werdegang / Ausbildung:

I attented high school at Durbanville High in South Africa. I completed my Bachelors in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Stellenbosch University. I completed my Master's in Electronic Engineering at Stellenbosch University, with the topic of Nanosatellite rendezvous with electrical propulsion.

Projekte:

During my Masters we published in the 2023 IEEE Aerospace Conference: https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/10115614

Wissenschaftliche Gremien:

None as of yet.

Auszeichnungen:

During my Bachelours at Stellenbosch University I received the award for 'Academic Excellence' in 2020.
During the International Space Propulsion Summer School, hosted by the University of Luxembourg, I was selected as one of the four 'Pitch your Idea' finalists out of 230 candidates, where I presented by idea to the expert engineers of the ArianeGroup that launched the Ariane 5 Rocket carrying the James Webb Space Telescope.
I completed my Masters in Electronic Engineering at Stellenbosch University with Cum Laude.
