Geomagnetic Conditions Expert Service Centre (G-ESC) - development and operational activities
Diese Seite ist zur Zeit leider nur in englischer Sprache verfügbar.
The overall objective of the work is to ensure operational and development activities within the Geomagnetic Conditions Expert Service Centre (G-ESC) of ESA's Space Situational Awareness (SSA) Space Weather (SWE) network.
Developed ESC domains are supported by the SWE Data Centre, which provides reliable access to a range of key space weather datasets, provision for data archiving and hosting of some applications. The services are further provided via the SWE web portal.
The main interface with the Space Weather Coordination Centre (SSCC) is represented by the The Birkeland Centre for Space Science (BCSS) at the University of Bergen (UiB), being the Coordinating Expert Group of G-ESC. Within this project GFZ is responsible for the following activities:
- Service provision for the following Swarm Utilisation Analysis (SUA) products: G.123 PEJ, G.124 FAC, and G.125 MAG
- SUA G-ESC service provision
- SUA G-ESC KPI and SLA reporting
- SUA G-ESC second level support
- Implementation of new SSO interface
- Service provision for the following Kp products: G.107 Nowcast Kp-index, G.108 Definitive Kp-index, G.109 Kp/Ap tabular and G.110 Kp/Ap archive
- Kp products service provision
- Kp products KPI and SLA reporting
- Kp products second level support
- Implementation of new SSO interface
- Extension of magnetometer chain
- Analysis of the development needs
- The extension of Scandinavian magnetometer chain equatorward with the following Suitable observatories: WNG, NGK and BFO
- Geomagnetic data measurements and real-time delivery
- Implementation of longitude/local Dst index
- Analysis of the development needs
- Description of concept and design of the new products
- The development of a longitudinal/local Dst-index in NRT
