Differentiation between locked and creeping segments of the Ganos fault
The Ganos fault (Western Marmara region) faced the last M>7 mainshock in 1912. A total of eight short-period seismic stations have been deployed in Autumn 2005 to monitor the eastern part of the Ganos fault with unprecedented detail. The objective of MONGAN is to differentiate between locked and creeping segments of the Ganos fault.
